Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team, specializing in the installation, service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of whole-home standby generator systems. The ideal candidate is a skilled electrician who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work independently in the field, and is comfortable traveling to customer locations throughout the region. Experience with standby generators is highly preferred, but strong electrical experience and a willingness to learn will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Install and service whole-home standby generator systems
- Perform electrical installations, connections, and troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair generator and electrical system issues
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections
- Troubleshoot and Install transfer switches, electrical controls, wiring, and related equipment
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and installation specifications
- Ensure all work meets applicable electrical codes and safety standards
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and customers
- Document completed work, repairs, and recommendations
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Travel to job sites approximately 50% of the time
- Work independently while maintaining high-quality standards
Skills
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent qualifications
- Strong residential electrical experience
- Experience with whole-home standby generators is highly preferred
- Knowledge of electrical codes and safe work practices
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
- Ability to travel approximately 50%
- Ability to work occasional weekends as needed
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service calls
