Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Company Port Driver with a CDL-A license and become an essential part of our logistics operation! In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting freight to and from port facilities, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups. This position offers the opportunity to work with specialized equipment, including chassis mounted containers of all types and sizes, all while maintaining the highest safety standards. Your expertise in route driving, and various truck types will drive our success and keep cargo moving seamlessly.
Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers with manual or automatic transmissions across designated port routes, adhering to all safety and traffic regulations
- Deliver import and export loads to various sites within a normal 2 hr drive from the port
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight delivery details, and route documentation in compliance with federal regulations when required
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route progress, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit
- Assist with securing loads properly for transport to prevent damage during transit
Experience
- Valid CDL-A license and TWIC card with a clean driving record
- 3 years of Proven truck driving experience in freight delivery, especially within port environments or similar logistics settings
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to commercial driving and cargo handling in port operations
- Ability to navigate route driving efficiently while maintaining punctuality and safety standards
