POSITION: Short Notice Cook SR
SALARY: $20.00 per hour
REPORTS TO: Convalescent Center
LOCATION: Nespelem, WA
Basic Functions: This is a Non-Exempt position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
- High School Diploma or GED.

Al least one year Long Term Care cooking experience preferred.

Must have knowledge of safe and proper food handling, storage, and disposal practices.

Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.

Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Food Handlers care within 5 days of employment.

Must function independently and be able to work a flexible schedule.

Must be able to process diet changes and new diet orders as received the Nursing department.

Must successfully clear a criminal history background inquiry with BCCU that indicates no felony or conviction on the DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Assure that all meals are prepared in accordance and conforming to individual resident diet cards.

Prepare meals conforming to the published menu and substitutes items only in an emergency or with the Food Service Manager’s authorization.

Ensures that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Prepares all snacks and the evening nourishments according to all guidelines.

Ensures that all meals and snacks are served at the correct time as scheduled.

Processes diet changes and new diet orders as received from the Nursing department.

Preforms assigned cleaning in conformity to the schedule.

Responsible for checking and signing in all food deliveries in the absence of the Food Service Manager.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
