Lantern Residences is a structured recovery housing program serving men in recovery throughout the Charleston area. Our mission is simple: provide safe, stable housing while helping residents build accountability, independence, and long-term recovery.
We are seeking a House Manager who is organized, dependable, technology-savvy, and passionate about helping others succeed.
Position Summary
The House Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within our recovery homes, ensuring program compliance, maintaining house standards, supporting residents, and documenting all activities accurately. This position combines case management support, resident accountability, property oversight, and administrative responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with technology, managing multiple priorities, maintaining professional boundaries, and holding residents accountable while treating them with dignity and respect.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily house visits and complete house checklists
- Perform resident one-on-one meetings
- Review resident recovery plans and progress notes
- Conduct and document random drug screenings
- Complete medication counts and accountability checks
- Monitor house cleanliness, organization, and safety
- Assess program fines and ensure accountability standards are maintained
- Assist with resident onboarding and orientation
- Support intake assessments and admissions when needed
- Follow up on resident concerns and unresolved case management items
- Conduct weekly house inspections
- Coordinate recovery meeting schedules and house calendars
- Ensure required recovery programming is occurring at each location
- Maintain accurate documentation in company software systems
- Complete daily End-of-Day (EOD) reporting
- Assist with food bank pickups and supply coordination
- Provide CPR and Narcan training when qualified
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license required
- Reliable transportation required
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to walk properties, climb stairs, and conduct inspections
Technology Requirements
Candidates must be comfortable using technology daily, including:
- Web-based software platforms
- Mobile applications
- Digital forms and documentation systems
- Calendar management tools
- Email communication
- Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Smartphones, tablets, and computer systems
Accurate and timely documentation is a critical function of this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in recovery housing, sober living, behavioral health, social services, corrections, probation, or case management
- Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Personal recovery experience (when applicable)
- Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS)
- CPR, First Aid, and Narcan Certification
Certifications Preferred
- Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS)

Required

Candidates who are not currently Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) must be willing and able to obtain CPSS certification within a timeframe established by Lantern Residences. Lantern will support qualified employees in pursuing certification as part of their professional development.
