Benefit Meals is looking for an experienced and motivated Chef to join our growing kitchen team. If you enjoy cooking but are ready to leave behind the late nights, unpredictable restaurant hours, and constant ticket rushes, this could be the perfect opportunity.
Our kitchen is not a traditional restaurant kitchen. We don't cook meals to order, there are no ticket machines printing orders, and there is no dinner rush. Instead, we prepare a planned number of meals each day based on previous sales. Our focus is on consistency, efficiency, and producing high-quality meals in a team-oriented environment. Benefit Meals offers proportioned meals for our customers in storefront coolers. As a chef, you will prepare these said meal every morning to be sold throughout the week.
Responsibilities
- Cook proteins, vegetables, starches, and other meal components in large batches
- Follow established recipes and daily production schedules
- Slice, trim, and portion meats
- Wash, prep, and cut vegetables for meal production
- Assist with general kitchen preparation and food production tasks
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment such as flattops, stovetops, and ovens (no fryers)
- Work closely with the production team to ensure meals are prepared accurately and on schedule
Qualifications
- Previous chef, line cook, catering, meal prep, or production kitchen experience preferred
- Strong knife skills and experience preparing meats and vegetables
- Ability to cook consistently in a high-volume production environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
