Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bindery Operator to join our dynamic printing and manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the precise finishing of printed materials, ensuring high-quality production standards are met. Responsibilities
- Operate bindery machinery such as cutters, folding machines, and binding equipment with precision and safety.
- Perform paper binding processes including perfect binding, saddle stitching, spiral binding, and other finishing techniques.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to ensure consistency and adherence to specifications.
- Interpret production documents and job tickets accurately to determine required finishing procedures.
- Adjust and maintain industrial equipment, including large-format printers, CNC machines, and flexo presses, for optimal performance.
- Collaborate with prepress teams to ensure files are prepared correctly for finishing operations using graphic design software and prepress software tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols in handling industrial equipment and materials.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating bindery machinery such as cutters, folders, stitchers, or similar industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly.
- Familiarity with print production processes including digital printing, screen printing, and large-format printing.
- Knowledge of graphic design principles, typography, layout design, and color management.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and prepress software.
- Ability to interpret complex production documents accurately for efficient workflow execution.
- Basic understanding of CNC machining, flexo press operation, and industrial equipment adjustment is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control standards.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials safely.
