About the Position
Aspen Beauty Academy is looking for a passionate, professional, and dependable Cosmetology Instructor to help train the next generation of beauty professionals.
This is a great opportunity for a licensed cosmetologist who enjoys teaching, mentoring, coaching, and helping others grow. You will work with students in both the classroom and clinic setting as they build their skills, confidence, professionalism, and prepare for Maryland State Board licensure.
Teaching experience is preferred, but not required. If you have strong cosmetology experience, enjoy working with people, and are interested in growing as an educator, we encourage you to apply.
What You’ll Do
As a Cosmetology Instructor, you will:
- Teach cosmetology theory and hands-on practical skills
- Thoroughly prepare for theory classes by reviewing curriculum materials, organizing instructional content, and following approved lesson plans
- Demonstrate techniques and coach students during practice and clinic services
- Supervise students on the clinic floor to ensure safety, sanitation, quality, and professionalism
- Help students prepare for Maryland State Board exams
- Track student progress, attendance, assignments, and skill development
- Administer written, practical, and State Board preparation assessments
- Maintain structure, accountability, and a positive learning environment
- Follow and enforce school policies, curriculum requirements, sanitation procedures, and Maryland regulations
What We’re Looking For
Qualified applicants must have:
- Active Maryland Cosmetology License
- At least 4 years of professional cosmetology experience
- Strong communication skills
- Professional, reliable, and punctual work habits
- Positive, respectful, team-focused attitude
- Coachable and willing to follow school policies, accept feedback, and make adjustments as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred, but not required:
- Teaching or training experience
- Salon leadership or management experience
