Lawn Pro is a growing local company seeking an experienced Pruner to join our team. We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded professional who takes pride in quality workmanship and understands proper pruning practices that promote plant health and appearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prune trees, shrubs, hedges, and ornamental plants according to industry standards
- Shape and maintain landscape plants for health, safety, and aesthetics
- Remove dead, damaged, diseased, or hazardous branches
- Identify and report plant health issues, pest infestations, and disease concerns
- Operate pruning tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Follow company safety procedures and quality standards
- Communicate professionally with team members and customers
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of proper pruning techniques and best practices
- Understanding of plant growth habits and seasonal pruning requirements
- Ability to identify common tree, shrub, and ornamental plant species
- Knowledge of plant health, structure, and development
- Experience with crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, and structural pruning
- Ability to recognize signs of pests, disease, decay, and structural defects
- Safe operation of hand pruners, loppers, pole pruners, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and proper use of PPE
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality results
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous pruning or landscape maintenance experience required
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding outdoor work
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
