Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care, and clinical coordination while helping ensure the delivery of high-quality medical services.
The RN works collaboratively with physicians, medical assistants, and support staff to provide exceptional medical, emotional, and spiritual care. This position also supports patient education, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Fully supports and agrees with the COLFS Mission Statement and life-affirming philosophy.
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Strong commitment to serving women facing unplanned pregnancies and other vulnerable patient populations.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Dependable, professional, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Proficient with technology and electronic medical record systems.
- Willingness to complete training and competency requirements for limited obstetrical ultrasound services.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Good visual acuity and attention to detail.
- Manual dexterity and steady hand coordination.
- Ability to lift and move clinic supplies and equipment as needed.
- Compassionate and professional bedside manner.
Essential Responsibilities
Patient Care & Nursing Services
- Provide direct nursing care utilizing sound clinical judgment and evidence-based practice.
- Assess patient needs and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate significant changes to providers.
- Carry out physician orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records.
- Educate patients regarding health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and available resources.
- Coordinate and monitor patient follow-up care.
- Perform or oversee pregnancy testing and related nursing services.
- Promote a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered experience.
- Maintain knowledge of current nursing standards, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols.
- Help ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
