The Administrative Assistant provides office and clerical support to assist with the efficient operations of Orion Education & Training, as well as assist the teachers to help with students obtain their high school diploma. To accomplish these tasks, the Administrative Assistant works closely with the staff and administration of Orion.
Required Skills/Abilities:
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
3. Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
5. Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
6. Ability to work individually and with a team.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Three years of office experiences preferred
3. Attention to detail, organized, professional and team player
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Welcome students, guests and customers in person or on the telephone and answer and direct inquires.
2. Answer incoming phone calls professionally and in a timely manner.
3. Prepare reports and other communication by collecting information.
4. Provide organized filing and retrieval systems.
5. Provide accurate data and record keeping for all students/ teachers as assigned by the certified staff member and/or director.
6. Professional communication skills at all times with the public, students and participating district personnel.
7. Maintain the confidentiality of all students and their families.
8. Assign priorities to projects to ensure timely completion.
9. Answer student questions related to coursework progress
10. Maintain a safe and clean work area.
11. Follow chain of command in resolving conflicts.
12. Promote Orion in a positive light through attitude, information, and professionalism.
13. Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
1. Requires prolonged sitting, standing and use of equipment including repetive motions and computer eye fatigue.
2. Requires stooping, bending and reaching.
3. Must occasionally work in noisy and crowed environments with numerous interruptions.
