Duties
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including layout and material staging.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to perform construction tasks.
- Assist with wood framing and other general carpentry tasks according to blueprints and project specifications.
- Measure, mark, and cut lumber and other building materials accurately.
- Install windows, doors, trim, flooring, and other finish materials.
- Assist with demolition, remodeling, renovations, and restoration projects.
- Load, unload, and organize building materials and maintain a clean, safe job site.
- Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations, heavy lifting, scaffolding, and equipment operation.
Skills
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic construction math.
- Experience measuring, marking, and cutting lumber and other building materials.
- Knowledge of wood framing, carpentry, and general residential construction practices.
- Experience installing windows, exterior and interior doors, trim, flooring, cabinets, and other finish carpentry components.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and common construction equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with roofing, siding, insulation, caulking, painting, and other residential construction tasks.
- Understanding of construction safety regulations and safe work practices.
- Ability to lift heavy materials, work on ladders and scaffolding, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
