Responsibilities
- Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote social skills, creativity, and personal growth
- Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques and behavior management strategies
- Implement age-appropriate educational activities aligned with developmental standards
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns during aftercare hours
- Ensure adherence to first aid protocols and emergency procedures, including CPR and AED operation when necessary
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to create a structured yet flexible environment
- Experience working with children between 3 and 12 years old in educational or childcare settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
- Ability to facilitate youth group activities and outdoor work experience to promote active learning
- Excellent child supervision skills with a focus on safety and nurturing support
- Team leadership abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues and support team efforts
