American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a day shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and proficiency with cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures.

CVOR setting within a hospital environment
-
Patient ratio of 1:1
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
-
On-call required: typically one weekday call per week and one weekend call every 3–4 weeks
-
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Cardiovascular procedures include CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, MAZE procedure, mitral valve replacement, TAVR, and LVAD/RVAD
-
Vascular procedures include AAA repair, AV fistula repair, carotid endarterectomy, carotid angioplasty/stenting, and femoral-popliteal bypass grafting
-
Thoracic procedures include thoracotomy, lobe resection, VATS, and scrub thoracic surgery

Scrub cardiovascular and scrub vascular surgery experience preferred

Heart transplant experience preferred

Teaching hospital and trauma (Level I or II) experience preferred

Active GA or Compact RN license required

Current certifications: BLS and ACLS

Minimum 2 years of CVOR or OR experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Proficiency with cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures required

Scrub cardiovascular and vascular surgery skills preferred

Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

All RTO must be finalized prior to offer; no RTO or schedule requests will be accepted post-offer or after starting on-site

Maximum of 7 days of RTO per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
-
Holiday coverage is required: if 1–2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2 of them
-
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

No alternate shift or schedule change requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm

Candidates who have been permanently employed or worked per diem at this health system must be away from all its facilities for a full year before being considered as a traveler
-
Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed prior to the start date; delays may result in a two-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling

Onboarding core items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; all compliance documents are due the Tuesday prior to the start date
