The position is responsible for the instructional disciplines in Health Sciences Dual Credit Programs. Must work within Midland College, ISD and professional regulatory agency guidelines.

Coordinate and ensure the quality and currency of educational offerings under his/her supervision
- Ensure that curricula are developed, evaluated, and revised by qualified faculty
- Participate in the selection and evaluation of faculty
- Ensure the accuracy of publications related to offerings under his/her supervision
- Identify and request needed instructional resources
- Act as the first point of contact for student, parent, and faculty issues
- Oversee the development of course schedules
- Participate in the development of departmental budgets
- Ensure compliance with requirements of state agencies and accrediting bodies, as applicable
- Fulfill faculty roles and responsibilities as outlined in the Midland College Policies and Administrative Regulations as published in the Employee and Faculty Handbooks
- Coordinate with the ISD in matters of scheduling, student engagement, and learning objectives in accordance with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance
- Act lawfully, ethically, and in the best interests of Midland College and the students
- Ensure accessibility of current and consistent guidelines, schedules, and syllabi
- Utilize a variety of effective teaching techniques to assure student success within the department
- Oversee clinical experiences of students in various community clinical sites and in a simulation lab
- Prepare reports of student progress according to Midland College guidelines; ensure all faculty input student census and evaluation as required
- Participate in program review and measurement of student learning outcomes
- Participate in regular department meetings and maintain consistent departmental communication
- Assist in the coordination and production of regular community advisory committee meetings
- Maintain positive and effective relationships with students, staff, and community partners
- Embrace the value of diversity and the dignity and worth of all individuals
- Create a safe and healthy classroom environment
- Participate in promotional recruitment activities
- Observe the administrative policies and mission of Midland College
- Communicate to students the faculty’s availability outside of class, including a minimum of fifteen posted office hours per week

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree in health science field or applied life science, or willingness to obtain within two years.
- Must be currently certified as a pharmacy technician by a state or nationally recognized agency and registered in the state of Texas as a pharmacy technician
- Minimum of three years of experience in a related health care profession
- Knowledge of health profession regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of basic computer applications
- Strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively as a member of the instructional team
- Interest in working in a college and high school setting
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health science related field
- Experience teaching adolescent or adult students
- Experience teaching in a health science discipline
- Leadership or supervisory experience
