At Unity Place, every recovery journey begins with a connection. We're seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Admissions & Community Outreach Coordinator who is passionate about helping individuals access behavioral healthcare while building strong partnerships throughout the community.
This role combines behavioral health admissions, community outreach, business development, and relationship management. You'll serve as the link between prospective clients, families, referral partners, and our clinical team—ensuring individuals receive timely access to care while expanding Unity Place's referral network.

About Unity Place
Unity Place of Monmouth County provides compassionate, evidence-based treatment for adults experiencing mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders through our:
- Partial Care (PC/PHP)
- Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
- Outpatient (OP)

Key Responsibilities:
Admissions & Client Coordination
- Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients, families, providers, hospitals, and referral sources.
- Coordinate admissions from initial inquiry through enrollment.
- Schedule assessments and intake appointments.
- Collect referral documentation, insurance information, and supporting clinical records.
- Verify insurance benefits and assist with authorization requirements when applicable.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the admissions process.
- Collaborate closely with clinical staff to facilitate timely admissions.
Community Outreach & Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, physicians, therapists, social workers, case managers, community agencies, and healthcare providers.
- Conduct outreach throughout Monmouth, Ocean, and surrounding counties.
- Represent Unity Place at networking events, health fairs, conferences, and community meetings.
- Educate referral partners on our services, admission criteria, and levels of care.
- Identify opportunities to expand referral partnerships and strengthen existing relationships.
- Coordinate facility tours and educational presentations.
- Track outreach activity and referral trends.
Collaboration
- Partner with clinical and administrative leadership to support admissions and census growth.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and outreach planning.
- Assist with marketing initiatives and community engagement.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, and New Jersey regulations.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in behavioral healthcare, healthcare admissions, community outreach, healthcare marketing, or business development.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR systems.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel.
Preferred
- Experience working in mental health, substance use disorder (SUD), or co-occurring treatment settings.
- Active NJ LSW or LAC license preferred, or actively working toward licensure.
- Knowledge of behavioral health levels of care, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and referral coordination.
- Established professional relationships within NJ's behavioral health or healthcare community.
- Experience using CRM, referral management, or EHR systems.
- Strong networking, presentation, and public speaking skills.
