Overview
We are an established DFW contractor expanding into HVAC and are seeking a licensed HVAC contractor (TACLA or TACLB) to serve as our company's license holder of record. This is an office-based role. You will not be running service calls or doing installs. Instead, you'll oversee our HVAC operations for code compliance, permitting, and quality, and provide technical direction to our field crews.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the designated license holder of record for the company's HVAC operations with TDLR
- Review job scopes, equipment selections, and installations for code compliance
- Oversee permitting and coordinate with city inspectors as needed
- Provide technical guidance and answer code/diagnostic questions for field technicians
- Review completed work documentation and sign off where required
- Stay current on Texas mechanical code, TDLR rules, and continuing education requirements
- Assist with warranty claims, inspections, and quality issues from the office
Requirements
- Active Texas TACLA or TACLB license in good standing required
- EPA 608 Universal Certification required
- Solid working knowledge of Texas mechanical codes, permitting, and inspection processes
- Willingness to serve as the company's license holder of record and take on the associated oversight responsibilities
- Strong communication skills for working with inspectors, techs, and office staff
- Prior field experience in residential/light commercial HVAC (so you can effectively guide crews)
