Experienced Interior Designer, Strong in Schematic Design & FF+E

Rockwell Interiors is seeking a talented, highly creative, experienced Interior Designer to join our growing high-end residential design studio.
This role is ideal for a designer with exceptional design instincts, strong technical knowledge, and a passion for creating unique, highly customized homes. We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, loves beautiful architecture + interiors, and is excited to contribute to projects ranging from large-scale full remodels and additions to custom new construction and bespoke furnishing + styling.
The ideal candidate is equal parts visionary and detail-oriented, capable of leading projects from concept through installation while maintaining the highest standards of design excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Develop compelling design concepts tailored to each client's lifestyle and architecture.
- Create thoughtful, unique, highly detailed + comprehensive designs
- Source unique furnishings, fabrics, finishes, plumbing fixtures, decorative lighting, and accessories.
- Design custom furniture, millwork, built-ins, and specialty details.
- Present design concepts and selections to clients with confidence and professionalism.
Project Management:
- Collaborate with ownership on multiple projects simultaneously from schematic design through completion.
- Coordinate with architects, builders, consultants, and vendors.
- Manage project timelines and keep deliverables moving forward.
- Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents for design accuracy.
- Conduct site visits and oversee design implementation.
Client Experience:
- Build strong relationships with clients through exceptional communication and service.
- Anticipate client needs and proactively solve problems.
- Maintain Rockwell's reputation for professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with the Principal Designer and project team.
- Mentor junior designers and support staff.
- Contribute ideas that improve studio operations, efficiency, and overall project quality.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of professional interior design experience.
- Extensive high-end residential experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction, remodeling, and custom home design.
- Exceptional design eye with a refined understanding of scale, proportion, materials, and color.
- Experience designing custom furniture and millwork.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required
- Proficiency in SketchUp + Enscape preferred.
- Experience with Design Manager preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude / good energy / loves the world of Interior Design + Architecture
