Duties
- Perform detailed inspections of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, sensors, and related low voltage electrical components to ensure proper operation and code compliance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and CAD drawings to accurately assess system layouts and installation requirements.
- Conduct construction inspections for new or existing fire protection installations, verifying adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Test alarm systems, sensors, and electrical circuits using hand tools and power tools to identify issues or deficiencies.
- Document inspection findings thoroughly, prepare detailed reports, and communicate necessary repairs or adjustments to clients or contractors.
- Stay current with industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code), fire sprinkler fitting practices, and fire alarm sales techniques to provide expert guidance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fire alarm inspection, sprinkler fitting, or related construction inspection roles with a strong mechanical background.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and system design documents; familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, sensors, alarms, and schematics relevant to fire protection systems.
- Hands-on experience with field service tasks using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment for electrical and mechanical systems.
- Understanding of NEC standards, fire sprinkler fitting procedures, and fire alarm system sales or service processes.
- Strong electrical experience combined with construction knowledge; previous service technician experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting findings clearly and working effectively with clients or team members. Pay: $32.00 - $43.00 per hour
