Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours/Week
Weekend Requirement: Rotating Weekends
Pay Package
- $21/hour Taxable
- $45/hour Non-Taxable Stipend
- $66/hour Blended Rate
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Louisville, KY. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled acute care nurse with strong PCU/stepdown experience and advanced clinical skills caring for higher-acuity patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to progressive care and stepdown patients
- Monitor patients requiring close observation and advanced clinical interventions
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, and implanted ports
- Administer TPN and lipids safely per protocol
- Perform wound assessments and ongoing wound maintenance
- Manage NG tubes and related patient care needs
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate care appropriately
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Active Kentucky RN License or Compact RN License
- Minimum 2 years of STAC (Specialty/Stepdown Acute Care) experience required
- 3 years of experience preferred
- BLS Certification Required
- NIHSS Certification Required
Required Clinical Skills
- Port access experience
- TPN/Lipid administration
- PICC line management
- Wound care and maintenance
- NG tube management
- No chemotherapy experience required
