About the job
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, and service of a customer’s weighing equipment. Field Service Technicians will be working on both mechanical and electronic scales in various industries and environments from grocery store scales to massive truck scales.

We are looking for someone that is self-motivated, has a strong desire to learn a trade, and has a willingness to be part of a team that exceeds our customers’ expectations. The ideal Field Service Technician candidate will have knowledge in many fields including mechanical, electrical, and computer experience. We will provide basic and ongoing training to facilitate your growth and future with Midwest Scale.
Job requirements
- Must have a strong work ethic, neat appearance, and the ability to work unsupervised.
- Must be punctual, hard-working, and have a willingness to learn.
- Must be physically able to lift weight up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Basic computer & tablet skills required (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, use of tablets, etc).
- Must be organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
- Able to handle multiple projects while following a clear set of instructions.
- Must be willing to visit customer sites and further develop business in the region.
Experience
- Knowledge of basic electrical concepts and mechanical experience is recommended.
- Classroom and in-field training will be provided.
- Prior experience in a similar field or technical degree strongly recommended.
- Must have a clean driving record and possess/obtain a class B CDL.
- Must pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening prior to start.
