PURPOSE:
To serve as primary contact for neighborhoods aligned with HOPE, building local capacity, connection, and confidence within selected communities. To serve as liaison between the community and local service providers, provide services to violence survivors, and advocacy for residents.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: Job Duties and expectations:
Attend relevant community and organizational meetings, trainings (including completing the 80-hour Counselor/Advocate training,) and public relations events.
Utilize a range of assessment tools to understand social networks and local readiness to engage with others in the area to address trauma and improve individual and community health.
Work collaboratively with project team members including other members of the TICD Steering Committee, staff, interns and volunteers.
Build collaborative partnerships with key community stakeholders, funders, businesses and institutions.
Engage in activities with residents and neighborhoods to support TICD within the area and projects in support of the HOPE pillars: Health, Opportunities, Placemaking, and Engagement; including, but not exclusively, the following:
Conduct one-on-one interviews with local families to identify immediate and long-term needs and challenges.
Identify community-wide issues and needs in the micro-community.
Work with local service providers to secure resources to meet immediate health and welfare needs of families and individuals.
Lead residents in Workshops to develop a HOPE plan for improvement along the 4 HOPE pillars, and work with residents to implement and update the HOPE plan.
Develop, facilitate and/or lead focus groups and/or support groups.
Identify, develop and support local team leaders and trauma champions within targeted communities.
Review and collect demographic and trauma data and other data for program assessment. Assist with fundraising or grant writing to support resident initiatives from the HOPE plan.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
A passion for serving and empowering marginalized groups of people.
Experience and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals, organizations, agencies, and community groups from a range of socio-economic backgrounds.
Willingness to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good technical competency to complete required reports.
Determination and persistence when facing obstacles, including good problem-solving skills. Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License, use of personal vehicle and proof of appropriate auto insurance and registration.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Act 33, Act 34 clearances and FBI fingerprint check.
