The opportunity
Open the US distributor market for 2Water and build the sales engine behind it. This is a true ground-floor build: you will be the first senior US commercial hire of an established Mexican plastics manufacturer entering the American market, with the factory, the catalog, the export know-how, and the tradeshow presence already in place. The business is built. What is missing is the person to sell it.
Our edge is nearshoring with a recognized manufacturer: US-grade service, proximity, and short lead times for American distributors who are tired of long Asian timelines and want a stable North American supplier.
What you will own (year one)
- Open and grow the US distributor market, starting in Texas and expanding nationally.
- Land new active distributor accounts, targeting the large promotional-products distributors.
- Own the top target distributor list and convert it into quoting, purchase orders, and repeat business.
- Own 2Water's presence at upcoming tradeshows: pre-show outreach, the booth, and post-show conversion.
- Drive year-one US sales to and beyond a 6 to 7 figure quota.
- If year one performance is tracking in the right direction, the opportunity to recruit and lead one or two additional reps will unlock.
Compensation and benefits
Base salary is set at a level appropriate for a scale-up building its US business, and is finalized for each candidate based on several factors, including seniority, industry expertise, the depth of distributor relationships, and overall fit.
Commission of 30 percent of gross margin on the business you bring, uncapped in year one, with no ceiling above target. Your base is the guaranteed floor that lands every month no matter what you sell.
This is a high-performance, results-first culture: what you earn and how fast you grow are driven by what you sell, not by tenure. From day one you have a company phone, a home office stipend, and a company laptop, with travel covered per project and per event. As a scale-up, our benefits grow with the business: as the company reaches certain sales and financial thresholds, the package expands, including the introduction of a company health benefits package, and strong sales pull those milestones forward. The probationary period is up to six months and shortens with strong performance. A long-term incentive path can be available as extraordinary performance is demonstrated.

- Hunger and the will to win; the more you grow the account, the more you earn, and the more we grow.
- Self-sufficient ownership; you operate as a player-coach and run without hand-holding.
- Command of pricing, margin, and distributor economics; you talk money and margins credibly with buyers.
- An established network across the distributor channel.
- Fluency in the promotional-products and distributor channel: industry conventions, platforms such as SAGE and ESP, and tradeshows.
- A compliance-first lens: you are highly mindful of contractual and regulatory constraints, including confidentiality and any obligations to prior employers, and you build the business on your reputation and relationships, never on a former employer's confidential customer lists or proprietary information.
- Discipline in joint business planning and pipeline management.
Nice-to-haves
- Spanish is helpful for working with the plant, but it is not required; a strong English-only candidate is welcome.
- Experience building, recruiting, or coaching a small sales team, for the growth path.
Your first 90 days
- Days 1 to 30: visit the plant, complete onboarding, master the catalog, lock the target distributor list, and begin first client contacts.
- Days 31 to 60: formal quotes in motion, with first purchase orders possible for a fast starter.
- Days 61 to 90: regular sales activity at full stride, with the tradeshow plans completed.

2Water US is the American sales arm of an established Mexican plastics manufacturer with a roughly 300-product catalog, about 80 products built for the US market, and an industrial PET line. With Mexico now the United States' largest trading partner and USMCA keeping qualifying goods at near-zero tariffs, we offer US distributors what Asian suppliers cannot: real manufacturing in days, not weeks, from a stable North American supply chain a short flight away. Our catalog is live on SAGE and upcoming tradeshow presence is established.
Reporting and growth path
You report directly to the two founders of the US business. The path is explicit: sell first, prove the model, then help recruit and lead the US sales team you design. This role is built to grow into the head of US sales.
Location, travel, and essential functions
Texas-based, Houston area preferred, selling into US distributor accounts nationally. This is a travel-active outside sales role. Essential functions include traveling by car and air to distributor customers and industry tradeshows (covered per project and per event) and communicating regularly by phone and video. - A 60-minute videoconference conversation with our recruiting partner, covering competency assessment, business knowledge, and culture fit.
- A 30 minute videoconference conversation with the founders.
- Semi-final candidates: A joint in-person interview with the two founders in Houston, with a prepared six-month business case: your target accounts, your follow-up strategy, and your growth plan.
