Job Description
We are seeking an Intermediate to Senior Software Engineer to support our Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software Integrated Project Team (IPT).
The Software IPT is a large, restricted team supporting both Development and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts. The team focuses on the development and sustainment of multiple mission-critical software product lines, as well as the development of new capabilities in coordination with a restricted SCI customer.
The SW IPT consists of multiple subsystems, each with a specialized software focus. The successful candidate will join a diverse and highly skilled team working to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges in support of our customer's national security mission, including Next Generation Ground Systems, Ground Element Modernization (GEM), and software deliveries to CONUS and OCONUS operational sites.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a C++ Software Developer in a fast-paced Agile team environment utilizing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) virtual machines, servers, and workstations.
- Design, develop, code, and unit test new software capabilities in accordance with Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs).
- Identify, troubleshoot, resolve, and deliver software fixes associated with Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
- Collaborate with Software IPT subject matter experts (SMEs) and senior staff engineers across multiple software subsystems.
- Support software development, integration, testing, and sustainment activities as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5–8 years of relevant experience; Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3–6 years of relevant experience; or PhD in a STEM discipline with 1–4 years of relevant experience.
- An additional 4 years of relevant software experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to obtain a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
- Advanced object-oriented programming skills and strong proficiency in C++.
- Knowledge and experience with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DevSecOps and software test automation.
- Experience with programming and scripting languages, including C, C++, Java, Python, and/or Perl.
- Strong mathematical and algorithm development skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees, management, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
- Previous experience working on an Agile/Scrum team or strong familiarity with Agile development processes.
- Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
- Experience developing software in a Linux environment using Git.
- Active SCI security clearance.

- Active SCI clearance is preferred.

Pay: $90.00 - $120.00 per hour
