Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Day/Eve Med Tech Caregiver to provide high-quality medical and personal care to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare, with experience in memory care, hospice, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. This role offers an engaging opportunity to support patients' well-being during daytime and evening shifts, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity at all times. The caregiver will utilize their knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs, medication administration, and medical documentation to deliver comprehensive patient care in compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare standards.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and personal hygiene while maintaining their dignity and independence.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) or EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to ensure continuous health tracking.
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols, including tube feeding, catheter care, and other medical treatments as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care through tailored activities and compassionate engagement.
- Document all patient interactions meticulously in medical records to ensure compliance with legal and healthcare standards.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to report changes in condition or concerns related to physiology or anatomy knowledge.
- Assist with medical procedures such as medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing tasks within scope of practice.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, HIPAA privacy rules, and safety regulations during all caregiving activities.
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and the fundamentals of patient care.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation.
- Experience providing Alzheimer’s care, dementia support, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures including tube feeding and catheter care.
- Ability to monitor vital signs accurately and recognize signs of medical emergencies requiring immediate attention.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
