A high-performing, private elementary school is seeking a full-time, experienced Music Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire a lifelong appreciation for music while providing engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to students from Pre-K (age 4) through 8th grade (age 14).
The successful candidate will deliver a dynamic music curriculum that fosters creativity, musical literacy, performance skills, and a love of music. Responsibilities include teaching general music to students across all grade levels, incorporating singing, movement, rhythm, instruments, music appreciation, and music theory into lessons appropriate for each age group. The Music Teacher will also collaborate with colleagues to support school drama performances, 2 annual whole school choir concerts, and other special events that enrich the school community.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for music education, understand the importance of nurturing students' artistic and creative development, and work effectively with a team of highly talented educators in a collegial Pre-K–8 environment. Flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm are essential. Superb oral and written communication skills are required.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Music Education or a closely related field is required.
- Experience teaching music to students from Pre-K through 8th grade is strongly preferred.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage students of varying ages, abilities, and learning styles.
- Experience directing student performances, concerts, and musical productions is preferred.
