American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Medical/Surgical unit with telemetry experience preferred and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.

18-bed Admission Unit (AU) serving stable adult medical/surgical and cardiac patients in a hospital setting
-
Hybrid patient population includes inpatient, observation, and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) patients arriving from the ED or as direct admits
-
Patient population includes general med/surg adults, cardiac patients on antiarrhythmic drips, and neuro patients post-TIA/CVA
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6

Night shift, 7p–7:30a (3x12s), with 36 or 48 hour week options available

Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements
-
May float to other med/surg departments and the ED waiting room as needed

Equipment used includes remote and wall mount telemetry, bladder scanner, vein light, and iPOP
-
Epic EMR used for charting
-
Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
-
Current BLS (AHA) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required

ACLS (AHA) preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Telemetry experience preferred

Responsibilities include maintaining antiarrhythmic medication drips, insulin drips for DKA management, and performing NIHSS assessments
-
CDU patients remain under ED physician oversight overnight and receive stress testing in the morning

Staff work closely with a multidisciplinary team with a focus on episodic, patient- and family-centered care, discharge facilitation, and ED throughput

Hunter green scrubs required
