The Community Data Coordinator will support the work of the Chamber’s Center for Research & Data (CRD) by analyzing and translating data that informs regional priorities and community initiatives for the Chamber and contracted partner organizations. This role will work across a variety of projects focused on understanding regional trends, evaluating programs, and producing actionable insights for civic and community leaders.
The Community Data Coordinator will be integrated into the CRD Team and supervised by the Chamber, contributing to the Center’s broader research, data management, and analytics efforts.
The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and mission-driven, with strong technical data skills and the ability to translate complex information into clear insights that inform decision-making with a focus on partnering externally to use data to drive impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean and organize data from multiple sources, including community, regional, and program-level datasets.
- Conduct quantitative analysis to identify trends, measure outcomes, and support research projects.
- Produce reports, briefs, dashboards, and other data products that communicate key findings and insights.
- Translate complex data into clear, accessible insights for internal and external audiences.
- Work closely with CRD staff and partner organizations to understand priorities and align analysis with decision-making needs.
- Support data-related work connected with contracted community partners, including analyzing community and program-level data as needed and supporting external initiatives.
- Support mapping and data visualization to tell compelling stories informed by data.
- Maintain documentation and data management practices that ensure accuracy, consistency, and reproducibility.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The position does not have supervisory responsibility. This role inspires action through collaboration, teamwork, thought leadership, relationships, and information sharing.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Urban Planning, Data Science, Statistics, Social Science, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with datasets, including cleaning, management, and analysis.
- Proficiency with common data tools (Excel, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information for non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with community organizations, nonprofits, or public sector data is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is located in a climate-controlled downtown office site and requires a minimal amount of external activity. The job will require talking, listening, researching, and sitting for long periods working at a computer screen. This position does not require travel. Requirements include some evenings and weekends, flexible work week available to accommodate these instances.
