JAARS exists to reduce barriers, ease burdens, and deliver God's Word, especially in remote and difficult-to-access regions of the world. Through aviation, marine, and land transportation solutions, JAARS enables Bible translation, church planting, education, healthcare, and community development efforts among unreached language communities.
To sustain and expand this mission, JAARS requires strong philanthropic partnerships with individuals who share a commitment to the Great Commission and Great Commandments. The Philanthropy Officer serves as a key relationship manager responsible for cultivating, growing, and stewarding donor relationships that generate financial support for JAARS' mission.
Role Objective
The Philanthropy Officer will develop and strengthen relationships with current and prospective middle- and major-gift donors, resulting in increased engagement, generosity, and long-term partnership with JAARS.
The role is responsible for building trust-based relationships, communicating mission impact, identifying giving opportunities, and collaborating with organizational leadership to advance fundraising goals.

Donor Relationship Growth
- Successfully maintain, manage and grow giving from a portfolio of up to 150 current and prospective donors.
- Increase donor engagement through personalized communication and stewardship.
- Expand the number of qualified middle- and major-gift donor relationships.
Revenue Growth
- Increase total philanthropic revenue generated from the assigned donor portfolio by securing new and renewed gifts.
- Expanded donor base by identifying, qualifying, and engaging new philanthropic supporters.
- Increase donor investment levels by identifying, cultivating, and securing upgraded gifts and multi-year partnership commitments.
- Achieve annual fundraising objectives and campaign goals.
Mission Alignment
- Strengthen donor engagement and giving by connecting supporters to the measurable impact and mission outcomes of JAARS' ministry.
- Inspire financial partners to participate in advancing Bible translation and Gospel access - via JAARS’ “last mile” transportation logistics solutions - worldwide.
- Ensure donor interactions reflect JAARS' mission, values, and spiritual commitments.
Leadership Collaboration
- Partner with the Director of Development, Vice President of Advancement, President, and other senior leaders to engage key donors.
- Successfully coordinate strategic donor meetings and follow-up activities.
- Prepare briefing materials and donor engagement plans as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising or development.
- Experience in mission-based or faith-based organizations.
- College degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically within the United States.

Pay: From $52,500.00 per year
