Pay: $45- $55 per hour (DOE)

Job Overview
Viking Plumbing & Rooter is seeking an experienced PL02 Residential Specialist or PL04 Residential Service Plumber with a strong background in service plumbing, diagnostics, repairs, and emergency response. This is not a new construction position. We are looking for a plumber who excels at troubleshooting plumbing issues, communicating with customers, and providing effective repair solutions in residential and light commercial environments.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in service work, capable of working independently, and available to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service calls. Candidates should be comfortable diagnosing complex plumbing problems, presenting repair options, and completing work efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Please Note: This is NOT a commission based job. Additionally, company vehicle may be provided to qualified candidates after successful completion of the probationary period. Reliable transportation is required during the onboarding period.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
- Respond to emergency plumbing service calls, including after-hours and weekend calls as part of an on-call rotation.
- Repair and replace water heaters, tankless water heaters, fixtures, faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, angle stops, supply lines, and other plumbing components.
- Clear and diagnose drain and sewer stoppages using appropriate equipment.
- Perform leak detection and plumbing system diagnostics.
- Inspect plumbing systems and identify code, safety, and maintenance concerns.
- Provide customers with repair recommendations and maintenance solutions.
- Complete plumbing repairs in compliance with Washington State plumbing code.
- Accurately document findings, repairs performed, and recommendations using company software.
- Maintain inventory, tools, and equipment assigned to service vehicles.
- Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, tenants, and office staff.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Mentor apprentices when assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current Washington State PL02 Residential Specialist License or PL04 Residential Service License.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on residential service plumbing experience.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience servicing:
- Water heaters and tankless water heaters
- Fixtures and faucets
- Toilets and wax rings
- Water service piping
- Drain, waste, and vent systems
- Sewer and drain cleaning equipment
- Pressure reducing valves (PRVs)
- Recirculation systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prepare estimates and explain repair options to customers.
- Valid Washington State driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background screening and drug testing if required.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sewer camera inspections and drain cleaning equipment.
- Experience with water heater diagnostics, repair, and replacement.
- Experience with pressure-reducing valves (PRVs), expansion tanks, and recirculation systems.
- Experience mentoring apprentices.
- Light commercial service experience.
- Sales and estimate presentation experience.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday–Friday
- Overtime available
- On-call rotation required
- Evening, weekend, and holiday emergency response required when scheduled
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry materials and equipment weighing 50+ pounds.
- Work in crawl spaces, attics, basements, mechanical rooms, and confined spaces.
- Climb ladders and work from elevated surfaces when necessary.
- Stand, kneel, bend, crouch, and work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
