Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grounds Technician to maintain and enhance our outdoor landscapes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of grounds maintenance tasks, operating landscaping equipment, and ensuring the safety and health of our green spaces. Responsibilities
- Operate grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment safely and efficiently to perform tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, and general landscape upkeep
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues
- Maintain and care for horticultural elements, including plants, trees, shrubs, and turfgrass areas
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and system functionality
- Apply pesticides and other treatments responsibly, adhering to safety guidelines and environmental regulations
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of irrigation systems to promote healthy plant growth
- Perform routine inspections of grounds to identify issues related to pests, disease, or equipment malfunction
- Support seasonal landscaping projects and ongoing grounds improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Degree in Horticulture, Turfgrass Management, or a related field preferred
- Experience with grounds maintenance equipment operation is highly desirable
- Knowledge of horticultural practices, turf management, irrigation systems, and pesticide application
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to landscaping and pesticide use
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina for manual tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team
