Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting visitors, managing reservations, and ensuring excellent guest relations. This role requires strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate excellent customer service skills. The Host/Hostess plays a vital role in enhancing the overall guest experience and maintaining the high standards of our establishment.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage guest check-in procedures
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Manage reservations and waitlist using POS systems such as Toast.
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservation requests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth seating flow
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and courtesy
- Assist in setting up dining areas for special events or busy periods
- Support guest services by providing information about the restaurant's offerings and policies
Experience
- Previous experience as a Host/Hostess or in food service/hospitality is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Toast POS is a plus
- Strong communication skills and excellent guest relations abilities are essential
- Experience in hotel or guest services environments is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Knowledge of serving protocols, hospitality standards, and phone etiquette is desirable
