We are seeking an experienced and motivated Building Engineer to join our property management team. This position is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations, mechanical systems, and overall physical condition of commercial office buildings and retail centers to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality environment for tenants and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
● Perform routine inspections of building systems, equipment, and common areas
● Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems
● Respond to maintenance requests and service calls in a timely manner
● Coordinate and supervise outside vendors and contractors
● Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
● Monitor building automation and energy management systems
● Assist with emergency repairs and after-hours building issues as needed
● Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
● Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and service records
● Support property management with capital improvement and tenant improvement projects
Qualifications
● 3+ years of building engineering, facilities maintenance, or commercial property maintenance experience preferred
● Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
● EPA, HVAC certification, or engineering licenses are a plus
● Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
● Excellent communication and customer service skills
● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical maintenance duties
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
