Summary
Community Health and Wellness Partners (CHWP) is an integrated primary-care community health center that utilizes a team-based care model, sharing patient-care responsibilities among members of a team. The Student Intern supports and acts as needed in various roles throughout the organization. This support can be clinical, clerical, or outreach as needed. Supports team-based care model by focusing on the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Primary Accountabilities

- Provide support for additional administrative and support activities within the registration/business office, maintaining an acceptable level of productivity and consistency with all tasks as assigned.

Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate confidentiality with charting and related recordkeeping and clinical functions as assigned.
Operational Excellence

Understand and ensure all practices and procedures related to the delivery of medical services are consistent with contracted protocols and procedures, and that the team-based care model is followed with efficiency

Ensure that all records collected, processed, entered, and filed are done so in a timely, accurate manner.
- Ensure and uphold the confidentially requirements of all patient records and manage all daily tasks and activities consistent with HIPAA, state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the clinic’s policies and regulations regarding confidentiality and security.
Relationship Management
- Develop and ensure favorable relationships within and among all team members, as well as with patients, vendors, contractors, and related resources.

Primary Tasks and Duties

Maintains patient confidentiality.

Performs various clerical duties within the Team-care model

Utilizes computers, adding machines, fax machines, phones, and other related office equipment in the fulfillment of assigned duties.
- Maintains accurate, thorough filing of all paperwork.
- Supports other CHWP activities and perform other duties as assigned by COO or designee.

Assists in preparation of events (orientation binders, folders, give-a-ways, handouts, etc)

Housekeeping tasks and/or light building/property maintenance (inside and outside).

Supports Team-care model when working with all CHWP staff.

Performs other activities and duties as assigned by Leadership, Management or Administration

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics are those for a normal provider office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening hours. Most duties are performed inside but outside work may be required at times.
Work hours
Part-time, non-exempt, temporary position. Generally, a 30-hour work week is required for full-time; part-time as agreed upon by parties; hours are subject to change. Office hours vary by site, but are usually 8:00am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Some Saturdays and after business hours work may be required. Offsite events and travel may be a part of the position.
Wages
Starting wages for Position title will be negotiable based on Community Health & Wellness Partners pay policies and factors such as education and experience, national and state average compensation recommendations based on location and region.
Introductory Period
90-day probationary period. Will be evaluated at the end of each season to determine eligibility for continued employment and/or throughout the year as need.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education
-
Currently attending High School or equivalent, at least at a 9th grade level.

Must be able to speak read, write and understand English
Certificates and Licenses
- Ohio driver’s license is not required but preferred

Physical/Environmental

Occasional lifting of 40 – 50 lbs. and pushing of 5-20 lbs.
