Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen area.
- Support patients with mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods to promote safety.
- Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces.
- Document care provided, patient observations, and any incidents meticulously to ensure accurate records for ongoing care planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures including CPR and first aid certification.
- Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, or working within assisted living or nursing home environments is advantageous.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation for client outings or appointments may be required depending on location.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
