Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, dependable, and compassionate Patient Representative to join our business office team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will serve as a point of contact for patients looking to schedule appointments, while supporting the administrative operations and needs of our medical facility. Ensuring a seamless and positive patient experience.
Duties
- Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software, coordinate follow-up visits, and handle appointment cancellations or rescheduling
- Answering, directing and handling in-coming calls
- Assist business office as needed with various tasks as requested
- Manage patient registration, update demographic information, and ensure accurate documentation for billing and medical records
- Collect and process insurance information, and verify health insurance coverage using in house tools and online websites
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information according to HIPAA regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service via phone communication, in-person support, and interactions while demonstrating professional phone etiquette and typing skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with familiarity in medical administrative support or front desk roles
- Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA compliance, and health information management
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems; experience with electronic health records management is highly preferred
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and communication tasks
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously while demonstrating professionalism in a fast-paced environment
- Previous clinic experience or medical background is advantageous but not mandatory
