Diesel Technician — $80,000–$120,000+
Location: Whitewater, Colorado
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Employment: Full-Time
Compensation: $80,000–$120,000+ based on skill and production
We’re Looking for a Top-Level Technician
Whitewater Motorsports is looking for a highly motivated Diesel Technician who wants to produce, make good money, and be part of a shop where quality actually matters.
If you are a strong technician who can diagnose problems, complete work efficiently, take ownership of your jobs, and consistently produce quality billed hours, we want to talk to you.
This is not a dead-end hourly position.
Our compensation structure rewards technicians who perform. The stronger your skill level, efficiency, quality, and production, the greater your earning potential.
Top technicians have the opportunity to earn $100,000–$120,000+ per year.
What We’re Looking For
You should be able to:
- Diagnose instead of guess
- Perform repairs independently
- Produce quality billed hours consistently
- Work efficiently without sacrificing workmanship
- Communicate when a job changes
- Document findings clearly
- Complete thorough self-checks
- Accept Quality Control
- Take responsibility for mistakes
- Continue improving your technical ability
- Help make the technicians around you better
We are not looking for someone who throws parts at problems, hides mistakes, avoids documentation, needs to be chased to finish work, or is satisfied doing the minimum.
What You’ll Work On
Whitewater Motorsports specializes in diesel repair, diagnostics, performance, and off-road work.
Depending on your demonstrated ability, work may include:
- Diesel engine and fuel-system repair
- Electrical and drivability diagnostics
- Scan-tool testing and service-information research
- Engine, drivetrain, cooling, steering, suspension, and brake repair
- Performance upgrades and installations
- Diesel maintenance and inspections
- Repair verification and road testing
- Supporting apprentices and developing technicians
We work on trucks our customers depend on for work, towing, recreation, and performance.
How We Operate
We are building a professional shop around a few non-negotiable standards:
Diagnose — don’t guess.
Quality before shortcuts.
Document everything.
Communicate before the customer has to ask.
Take ownership of your work.
Verify the repair before the truck leaves.
You will be expected to produce, but we will never ask you to sacrifice quality just to push a vehicle out the door.
Compensation
Pay is based on demonstrated skill, responsibility, and production.
Qualified technicians may receive:
- Competitive hourly base pay
- Production-based bonus compensation
- $150 Core Values Bonus every two-week pay period
- Defined technician career levels
- Performance-based advancement
- Formal development reviews
- Training and mentorship opportunities
Production bonuses reward quality billed work.
Strong technicians who consistently produce have the ability to significantly increase their compensation.
Poor documentation, failed Quality Control, technician-caused comebacks, or failure to meet shop standards can affect bonus eligibility.
Technician Career Path
Our technician levels include:
Apprentice Technician I
Apprentice Technician II
Advanced Apprentice Technician
Technician
Master Technician
Your starting level is based on your actual demonstrated ability — not just what is written on your résumé.
Every new employee completes a 90-day Introductory Evaluation Period. During that time, we evaluate technical ability, productivity, quality, reliability, communication, documentation, safety, and Core Values.
Strong performance creates opportunities for higher pay, greater responsibility, and advancement.
The Whitewater Core Values
We expect:
Educate First

Pride in Our Work
Leading by Example

Technical ability matters.
Character matters just as much.
We can help a good person close a technical skill gap. We will not build our shop around someone who is talented but dishonest, unreliable, careless, disrespectful, or unwilling to take responsibility.
This Position Is Probably for You If:
You take pride in being one of the better technicians in the shop.
You like producing and want your compensation to reflect your performance.
You want difficult diagnostic and repair work instead of doing the same basic jobs every day.
You want clear expectations instead of chaos.
You want opportunities to become a stronger technician and eventually take on greater responsibility.
And you want to work somewhere that notices the difference between an average technician and an exceptional one.
This Position Is NOT for You If:
- You regularly arrive late or miss work
- You guess instead of testing
- You hide mistakes or damage
- You avoid documentation
- You resist Quality Control
- You consistently leave jobs unfinished
- You blame everyone else when something goes wrong
- You put speed ahead of quality
