We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide one-on-one support to students in a school-based setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students achieve success both academically and socially while ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs in the classroom and throughout the school campus.
- Assist students with activities of daily living, including toileting, grooming, feeding, and personal hygiene, as needed.
- Support student mobility, transfers, and positioning while following appropriate safety procedures.
- Assist with implementing behavior intervention plans and classroom routines under the direction of school staff.
- Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to promote student independence.
- Monitor student safety during classroom activities, transitions, recess, lunch, and community-based instruction.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, nurses, and other school personnel to support each student's educational goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow district policies and confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant, Paraprofessional, Caregiver, or in a related role is preferred.
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities, autism, or special needs is highly preferred.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist students safely when required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and team-oriented.
- Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
