Lead Aftercare Teacher, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Start Date:August 26 (training begins)
We are looking for a warm, caring, and reliable Lead Aftercare Teacher to join our team. This is a role will support the flow of the afternoon, supporting colleagues, building real relationships with children, and creating a calm, joyful space as the school day winds down.
In this position you will support classrooms during the afternoon hours, cover breaks and transitions as needed, and then take the lead with our aftercare group from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The children in aftercare come from mixed ages, so strong classroom management and a calm, confident presence are essential. We are looking for someone who is genuinely warm and loving with children while also being firm and consistent with boundaries. Safety is always the top priority.
This role requires outdoor time each day. The candidate will be expected to dress for all weather conditions including rain or cold. You will also use Brightwheel to keep accurate attendance and child lists, and you will interact regularly with parents at pickup. Flexibility, a collaborative spirit, and a solid understanding of child development are all important. Familiarity with Waldorf education is a plus but not required.
We are looking for candidates who are at least Lead Teacher certified. Director-qualified is ideal.
