Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Kennel Assistant. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing care and support for the animals in our facility. Duties:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel and our farm.
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, barns, and common areas
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals, reporting any concerns to management
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing animals
- Administer medications as directed by clieJt’s
- Assist with basic barn animals
- Maintain accurate records of animal care
Skills:
- Experience or knowledge of animal handling and care
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods of time
- Familiarity with kennel operations and procedures
- Basic understanding of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience with animals
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques
- Experience with dog handling or pet sitting
