We are looking for a Project Manager to lead heavy civil and utility infrastructure projects in a general contractor environment, taking full ownership from preconstruction through closeout. AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client that specializes in the construction of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and related municipal infrastructure projects. This position plays a critical role in delivering complex projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has direct project management experience in heavy civil or mechanical construction and is looking to build a long-term career with a stable contractor focused exclusively on Middle Tennessee projects.
Responsibilities

Oversee heavy civil and utility infrastructure projects from preconstruction through project closeout.

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls throughout all phases of construction.

Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation.

Work closely with field superintendents to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

Communicate directly with owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors to resolve project issues and maintain project momentum.

Track project costs, prepare financial forecasts, and identify opportunities to improve project performance.

Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and company quality standards.

Support project turnover, punch list completion, commissioning activities, and final documentation.
Requirements

3+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil or mechanical construction.

Experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout with direct ownership of schedules, budgets, and client communication.

Experience with water/wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, utility infrastructure, industrial construction, or similar heavy civil projects is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Must currently reside within approximately one hour of Nashville, Tennessee.

Experience working for a heavy civil general contractor or mechanical contractor is required.

Candidates whose experience is limited to residential construction, homebuilding, or light commercial construction will not be considered.
Benefits

Compensation: $90,000–$120,000 based on experience, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
