Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking Locator to join our directional drilling team. This position requires significant physical stamina for outdoor field work, sharp attention to detail to interpret signals and blueprints, and the ability to collaborate closely with the drill crew to maintain site safety and project accuracy. While the majority of our projects are local, candidates should be open to potential travel as needed. Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Clearing and preparing construction sites for underground work.
- Locating: For directional drill.
- Excavation: Digging trenches, ditches, and holes for laying pipes, cables, and other underground utilities. To include, vacuum excavation of utilities.
- Installation: Laying and installing pipes, cables, and conduits for utilities such as water, gas, and electricity.
- Backfilling: Filling in trenches and ditches after installation, ensuring proper compaction and grading.
- Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on site.
Experience
- Previous experience in underground construction or directional drilling is required.
- Ability to perform tasks that require physical strength, including lifting heavy items consistently throughout the shift.
- A valid CDL Class A with tanker endorsement is REQUIRED, or able to obtain in 90 days.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment are essential qualities for success in this position.
- Currently have mostly local work but some travel may be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
