Job Description Medical Assistant
Locations: Montclair, NJ; Secaucus, NJ; Butler, NJ; Wayne, NJ
Employment Type:
We are currently hiring for full-time, part-time, and per diem positions, with flexibility based on office needs and candidate availability.
Responsibilities:
- Assist providers with patient intake, including medical history and vital signs (BP, pulse, respiration, temperature)
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures while ensuring comfort and understanding
- Perform blood draws (phlebotomy certification required )
- Assist with in-office procedures and basic clinical tasks
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR/EHR systems
- Support clinical workflows including specimen collection and treatment preparation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment
- Ensure proper infection control and sterilization protocols
- Provide excellent patient service and communication
- Assist with inventory management and stocking supplies
- Support front desk operations when needed
- Must be able to work at least TWO or MORE of our locations
Schedule Requirements:
Applicants should be available during the following hours of operation:
- Monday – Thursday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Saturdays are mandatory 2x a month)
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred (outpatient, urgent care, or clinic setting)
- Phlebotomy experience REQUIRED
- IV experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems is a plus
- Strong understanding of basic anatomy and physiology
- BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) is a plus
