Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. In this vital role, you will drive the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing processes to ensure the timely acquisition of materials and services essential for our manufacturing operations. Your expertise will help optimize supply chain efficiency, manage vendor relationships, and support our commitment to quality and innovation.
Duties
- Prepare and process purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
- Evaluate price proposals and related data to determine fair and reasonable costs. Procure high-quality materials at the most competitive prices and in correct quantities.
- Issue purchase orders, enter delivery schedules into the ERP system, and verify order accuracy upon receipt.
- Coordinate with management regarding delivery adjustments and oversee vendor performance through packing slips and ERP tracking.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and vendor agreements in collaboration with management to achieve cost-effectiveness and timely deliveries.
- Manage purchasing activities related to parts swaps, reorders, and other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Experience in the Enclosure, Electrical Panel, or Telecom industries is preferred.
- Ability to gather and analyze information from multiple sources to identify and secure the best market opportunities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills, including experience interacting with external vendors and representing the organization via telephone and email.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office environment most of time, manufacturing environment some of the time.
- Able to look at computer screens most of time, use of telephone, computer software, and other forms of communication.
- Inter-office collaboration and communication and working with multiple departments and vendors.
