Job Overview
The Guild Wheaton is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented assistant Pastry Cook / Baker to join our culinary team. In this role, you will craft from scratch baked goods, pastries and desserts for all of our food service outlets.
Duties
- Work in collaboration with our Lead Pastry Chef
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, quick breads, cakes, desserts, mini desserts.
- Package baked goods attractively for retail display and/or catering orders
- Assist in food production and food preparation to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, adhering to food safety standards
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety
- Collaborate with team members to support catering events and restaurant service needs
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years baking experience preferred.
- Proven pastry experience with a strong portfolio of baked goods and desserts
- Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and kitchen sanitation standards
- Experience in food production, catering, or restaurant environments preferred
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with culinary tools used in pastry making
- Ability to work independently, as well as with the team as a whole.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
- Ability to multitask and work clean
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests
- Reliability is a must
- Weekends are a must with weekday flexibility.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
