Job Summary
Montecristo Medical PC is a physician-led, family-owned primary care practice serving the San Fernando Valley since 2009. We're hiring an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team as we grow.
Our practice delivers comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan — pediatrics through geriatrics. This is a steady outpatient role with a manageable panel, real admin support, and a collaborating physician who is genuinely present in the practice. If you're an experienced PA looking to practice to the full scope of your license in a supportive, low-bureaucracy environment, we'd like to meet you.
YOU MUST HAVE 3+YEARS OF EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDER.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No weekends, no call, no after-hours messaging expectations
What your day looks like
- 16–20 patients per day (occasionally up to 22 for experienced providers) — we deliberately protect against burnout
- Dedicated MA assigned to you, with cross-coverage from other MAs when your primary is out
- Admin support for prior authorizations and patient forms (IHSS, DMV, disability) — our operations team prepares these so you review and sign
- Predictable hours and a culture that respects your time
Duties
- Practice to the full scope of your California PA license
- Manage a continuity panel with full-lifespan care (pediatrics through geriatrics)
- Perform comprehensive physical exams and medical evaluations
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
- Order and interpret labs and diagnostic studies
- Provide preventive care and patient education
- Collaborate with our supervising physician, Dr. Anita Gonzalez, and clinical staff
- Maintain accurate documentation in Tebra (formerly Kareo)
Who you'd be working with
You'd be collaborating with Dr. Anita Gonzalez, our founding physician — a family medicine provider with pediatric training who has practiced across Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, and Los Angeles over a long career. She's bilingual (English/Spanish), genuinely available throughout the clinic day for consultation, and known by her patients for her commitment to continuity and care.
Requirements
- Active California PA license
- National certification
- DEA registration, or ability to obtain
- 3+ years of outpatient primary care or family medicine experience
- Comfortable treating patients across the lifespan
- Strong documentation and time-management skills
Preferred
- Spanish-speaking (a significant portion of our patient panel is bilingual)
- Experience with Tebra (formerly Kareo) or similar EHR
Compensation & Benefits
- $160,000 – $185,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Health insurance
- 80 hours paid vacation
- 40 hours paid sick leave
- 8 paid holidays
- Malpractice insurance — fully covered
- UpToDate subscription and paid California PA license renewal
- CME allowance totalling $1,000 per year.
Why this role is different
Most small-practice PA jobs in LA either pay well and burn you out, or offer work-life balance but don't pay competitively. We're trying to do both. We deliberately cap patient volume, we support you administratively so you're not drowning in forms, we pay at market rate, and we're moving into a better physical space. You'll know everyone here by name, there's no layers of corporate bureaucracy, and you'll have a direct relationship with the physician owner.
