Duties
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans tailored to the developmental stages of children, incorporating literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Lead classroom activities that promote child development through play, exploration, and structured lessons aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Support children with special needs through individualized instruction and early intervention strategies to ensure inclusive learning experiences.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies to maintain a respectful and productive environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships to support each child's growth.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child welfare and developmental assessments.
- Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR certification requirements.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children across various age groups, especially toddlers and preschoolers.
- Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management tailored to early childhood education.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education needs, and early intervention techniques.
- Proven ability to manage behavior effectively while fostering a nurturing atmosphere that encourages learning and curiosity.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures related to early childhood assessment tools.
- Experience teaching physical education activities that promote motor skills development.
- Ability to follow mandated reporting laws accurately and maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
