Align PNW is looking for compassionate and dependable people who are motivated to support those in the community who experience developmental and intellectual disabilities as a Direct Support Specialist. ****HIRING FOR****
1.) 4-8 hours weekly. Customer lives in N. Portland but sometimes needs to be picked up in Troutdale or Tigard. Customer has 3 young children who will be in the home. Needs assistance finding new housing, completing paperwork, cleaning, going through emails etc. Someone with a flexible schedule wanted!
2.) 3 days a week, around 18 hours weekly. Customer lives in SE Portland. Has 1 year old child plus dog and cat. Needs assistance with emotional regulation while in the community, organization, drives to the coast, hiking, accessing community resources etc.
*unable to hire one person for both positions because customers are looking for different types of people*
Responsibilities and Duties:
-Using your vehicle, provide community integration support to individuals through planned community activities according to their interests.
-Assist individuals to achieve goals of independence at home or in the community following individual service contracts.
-Accurately record hours worked, progress notes, mileage and any incidents through electronic or written documentation.
-Obtain and maintain all required certification and trainings (First aid, CPR, etc)
-Display open communication and cooperative work behavior.
-Ensure individuals exercise their rights and are treated with respect.
Qualifications:
-Must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid drivers license, reliable car to drive, and proof of auto insurance.
-Pass a background check and obtain First aid and CPR certification.
-Experience providing supports with individuals who experience developmental disabilities.
-Punctual, self-motivated and self-directed.
-Excellent verbal, written, and digital communication skills including the use of smart phones.
-Understanding in how to create and edit word documents
-Access to scanner or a smart phone that is able to download free scanner app.
-Ability to satisfy physical requirements for an individual which may include light lifting, bending, walking and physical support.
-Provide 2 references (at least 1 professional)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.50 per hour
