Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Metal Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components used in traffic safety equipment and related products. Your expertise in metalworking, blueprint interpretation, and mechanical fabrication will contribute directly to our mission of delivering reliable safety solutions.
Duties
- Set up and optamize machine and fabrication equipment-robotic welders, brakes, shears, laser cutters, etc.
- Measure, cut, and shape sheet metal and other metal materials using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment.
- Operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure precise dimensions.
- Assemble fabricated parts using mechanical knowledge, hand tools, forklifts, and other machinery while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain quality control by inspecting welds and fabricated components for accuracy and integrity.
- Follow safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment on the shop floor and during fabrication activities.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints.
- Skilled in sheet metal fabrication, plasma cutting, machining, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication.
- Mechanical knowledge of metal materials and fabrication shop operations.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently while following safety protocols.
- Experience with forklift operation for material handling within the shop environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing standards including AWS welding codes.
