Position Overview
The Finlen Hotel is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to join our front desk team. As a historic landmark in Butte, we are dedicated to developing long-term relationships with our guests, tenants, and employees. The ideal candidate is a personable team player who takes pride in providing a positive customer experience and maintaining the high standards of our historic property.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest & Tenant Relations
- Register and assign rooms to hotel guests and manage the full check-in/out process.
- Confirm phone and online reservations using hotel booking software.
- Collect and record monthly rent payments for apartment tenants, maintaining accurate ledger records.
- Respond to guest and tenant needs, requests, and complaints with a calm, professional demeanor.
- Provide local information on restaurants, sites, and activities to enhance the guest experience.
2. Digital & Administrative Operations
- Computer Proficiency: Navigate hotel PMS systems and utilize Microsoft Outlook for daily operations.
- Professional Correspondence: Prepare and send professional, well-written email responses to inquiries and internal communications when necessary.
- Financial Auditing: Complete daily audits of transactions and maintain organized physical and digital files.
- Clerical Tasks: Perform various tasks as needed, including sorting mail for tenants and filing paperwork.
3. Hotel & Residential Operations
- Guest & Tenant Services: Manage the full hotel guest cycle and serve as the primary resource for apartment residents, including collecting and recording monthly rent.
- Property Stewardship: Ensure the safety and security of the building; maintain the lobby’s historic beauty through light cleaning and organization (vacuuming/mopping). Recognizing areas of needed improvement for housekeeping and maintenance staff.
Qualifications & Key Attributes
- Computer Literacy: High proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook and Word) is required. Experience with hotel booking software/PMS is a significant bonus.
- Written Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally via email and communication logs with excellent grammar and tone.
- Experience: Previous hospitality, customer service is required. Property management experience a plus.

- Schedule: Must be flexible and available on the weekends and available for graveyard shift. Last-minute availability is highly valued. This position is part time, but more hours can be available for those willing to jump in and help out other departments.
- Requirements: High school diploma or GED; ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
