We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team on 2nd shift. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes — particularly Mazak equipment — and will play a key role in overseeing production operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Program, set up, and operate Mazak CNC lathes to produce precision machined components
- Oversee and coordinate all 2nd shift production activities to meet schedules and output targets
- Mentor and assist fellow machinists with CNC programming and machine operation
- Ensure all parts meet established quality standards through in-process and final inspection
- Perform tolerance analysis and review engineering drawings, including GD&T specifications
- Conduct part post-processing operations as required per job travelers and work orders
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain optimal efficiency
- Document production data, nonconformances, and shift reports accurately
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and communicate findings to supervision
Required
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machining, specifically CNC lathe operation
- Demonstrated proficiency programming and operating Mazak CNC lathes
- Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Experience with precision measurement tools and inspection equipment
- Proven ability to hold tight tolerances in a production environment
Preferred
- Experience in a supervisory or lead machinist capacity
- Familiarity with ISO or AS9100 quality management systems
- Knowledge of part post-processing methods (deburring, finishing, etc.)
- Associate's degree or vocational certification in Machining Technology or related field
